GiGi Gunn
"Positive portrayals of women and the men who deserve them...."
“NEVER BEEN TO ME is by turns gut wrenching and heartwarming,” says RT Reviewer, Kate Girard. This latest contemporary romance from author GiGi Gunn follows heroine Persi as she transitions from “the other woman” to someone’s only woman. (Romantic Times Book Reviews) [NEVER BEEN TO ME] Ms. Gunn is an amazing storyteller. She takes a familiar storyline and makes it uniquely hers while taking readers on a journey that will appeal to all of their senses. There is the visual tour of Washington D.C. and Paris, the smells and tastes of the local cuisine, and the Nick’s soulful saxophone playing. All of the characters are realistic - their being flawed adds to the story’s appeal. Nick is one of my favorites as he woos Persi with subtlety and intention. There is a strong cast of secondary characters, and I would love for Ms. Gunn to continue with some of their storylines introduced in this book. (Romance In Color) [CAJUN MOON] ... In steamy New Orleans, art history professor, Sassy Crillon, catches her longtime fiancé, Roux Robespierre, in a heinous betrayal which rocks the core of who she is and what she thought she had. Despite Roux's attempts at absolution and forgiveness, Sassy sets herself free. In the space created by Roux's absence, a wealthy entrepreneur, Aidan Symonds, who's loved Sassy from afar for years, fills the void and romances Sassy from Napa to New York. Slowly, she allows herself to love and trust again. But the new, redemptive Roux refuses to let her go, and Aidan harbors a secret that can destroy them and the love they've built. Only the Cajun Moon knows that the three are interconnected by lies, secrets and half-truths which can tear their lives apart. The shocking secrets are exposed, and the curse becomes the cure. Now, Sassy is torn between Roux and Aidan -- her past and her future. Her choice challenges who she is and who she is to become. Rage, redemption, and romance on the Bayou. "Positive portrayals of women and the men who deserve them...." When I purchased "Cajun Moon", I did not know what to expect; however, as I began to read, I could hardly put it down, yet I had to slow myself down as I got toward the end. I so enjoyed each of the characters and I fell madly in love with Aiden. The descriptions of the various places in New Orleans were so precise that I wished I was there; and, the development of each character was such that I thought I knew them. As Aiden and Sassy danced to their favorite song, "The Very Thought of You", the tune began to resonate in my brain. I went to my computer and played the song and have added it to my list of songs to learn. There were many jazz references indicated throughout the book. I was sooooo happy with the ending--I was afraid something crazy was going to happen to one of them and they would not be together. I so loved Aiden's appeal to Sassy in San Francisco that it brought tears to my eyes (when a man loves a woman) wow!! And, in turn I loved Sassy's appeal to Aiden on the ski slope. What a great love story. That book stayed with me for several days, so that I could not begin to read anything else. One Amazon reviewer stated "Ms. Gunn's writing is almost lyrical, you can picture the characters and events so clearly..." Ms. Gunn has the ability to paint a picture/scene with words that held my attention to the very end. I had to slow myself down toward the end because I wanted it to last forever. Please do yourself a favor and purchase "Cajun Moon" at www.amazon.com (Kindle too) and visit Gigi Gunn's website at www.GigiGunn.net to meet some of her other characters. (Sandra Y. Johnson's June Jazz Newsletter) [CAJUN MOON] … Sassy is a treat. She is leery about being with Aiden so soon after giving Roux the boot, but something about Aiden she can't resist. And Aiden....he is the bomb. This man is rich, suave, and debonair-everything a man born and raised in N'awlins with a silver spoon should be. The fact that he is vulnerable where Sassy is concerned makes him real. He has loved her for so long that you can understand him keeping the secret of who and what he is from Sassy. Usually I don't care for books with "the big secret" as a plot device, but in this case, it worked. Even Roux has his moments. He carries his childhood hurts too long but he is not stupid or evil. Emotionally he is still a hurt little boy who cannot see what he has until he loses it. Author Gigi Gunn has written a really enjoyable novel about people that you can care about. Can't wait for her next book. (Amazon.com) [CAJUN MOON]… When I bought Cajun Moon, I was fairly new to the AA Romance genre but, an addict in the making just the same. I'd read 4-6 books per week consistently and had for about a year. A lot of the books I read were good and some were very good But, I have to say, Gigi Gunn's Cajun Moon raised the bar and set the "gold standard" for me in this genre and showed me what an amazing talent she is. This story was so well told and the characters so well developed, that I didn't want this book to end. I felt like I knew them. Out of the hundreds of books I've read, this book stands out. If you have the opportunity, read this book, you will be so happy that you did! (Amazon.com) [RAINBOW’S END]… I loved this book! Dylan and Caleb's story was just wonderful. I read this book in one sitting and as with all of Ms. Gunn's books, I dreaded coming to the end. I cried at the end of this story - not something I do often - but Ms. Gunn is a master at her craft and this story is that good. I hope that one day she will write a sequel to this story. (Amazon.com) [RAINBOW’S END]… It's a soul stirring and totally romantic read that will leave you breathless and cheering at the end. Which, like all of Gigi Gunn’s novels, comes too soon? Bravo, Gigi! (Amazon.com) [LIVING INSIDE YOUR LOVE]… A SOUL-STIRRING romantic treat...the cat and mouse dance between Jared and Georgia kept me turning the pages to see what fate has in store for them...Jared is DEFINITELY a GREAT catch...and at times I think Georgia with her stubborn mind is ABSOLUTELY foolish to pass up on the CHANCE of a lifetime...although the book is a bit wordy and/or repetitive at times...however, it still held me CAPTIVE with the romance, the COLORFUL cast of characters and the INTRIGUING bit of suspense thrown in the mix...I also find it REFRESHING that despite his strong desire to be with Georgia...Jared is willing to take his time and wait for the RIGHT moment...I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to reading more of Ms. Gunn's novels. (Amazon.com) [LIVING INSIDE YOUR LOVE]… A recurrent theme in Gigi Gunn’s books is the importance of family, good values, friends, goals, and a determination and the discipline to pursue those goals. These are great lessons for our young people today. Thank you Gigi for another life lesson and a very entertaining romance. (Amazon.com)
